Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art that combines kicking and punching techniques with a deep philosophy of life. More than a combat sport, it promotes physical and mental improvement, instilling values such as respect, integrity, and perseverance. Practitioners progress through a belt system, from white to black, symbolizing their skill and knowledge. Essentially, Tae Kwon Do is a discipline that balances body and mind, guiding individuals towards personal growth. On July 14, the Historic Site Ruins of León Viejo received a visit from the ITF Chon Ji Tae Kwon Do school from León, Nicaragua. The young students, accompanied by their teachers and parents, hiked through the ruins of the old city of León, founded in 1524 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Hernández de Córdoba. During this guided tour, they visited the most emblematic points, learning about the importance and uniqueness of our World Heritage site. After an hour of touring, the kids took a well-deserved break and, together with their parents, used the "picnic area," a place reserved for visitors to eat and use the playground constructed at the beginning of 2024. During this time, we had an unexpected visit from a motorcycle club called "Pateperro," who engage in social work and promote "biker" values: loyalty, respect, honesty, and camaraderie. Later, they moved to the main square to start today’s practical class. The kids were organized in rows based on their rank, did warm-ups, and showcased their skills through friendly matches.
