Convent of Our Lady of Mercy
Colonial Structure No. 9
Founded by Friar Francisco de Bobadilla in 1528. Built with adobe brick walls and plastered with mud (talpuja), its roof was covered with clay tiles. The current area is 962 m².
It served as a center for evangelization. Due to unrest in the city, four people were dismembered and buried here in 1545. During archaeological investigations in 2000, human remains of Spaniards and natives of various ages and genders were discovered in the cloister near the main altar
